The letter of provenance from our consignor reads as follows:
At the age of 10, I dislocated my hip playing football on playground. I was an avid Detroit Lions fan, so my uncle gave my father and myself tickets to to to Briggs Stadium in Detroit to see the championship game. A couple of weeks later my uncle gave me this football that he got signed at Lindel’s Bar in Detroit.
My father wrote the name “World Champion-1957” on the ball and as you can see Bobby Layne said “hello Mike” beside his signature;
