Dubbed “The Motor City Cobra” and “The Hit Man,” Thomas Hearns entered the ring at Caesar’s Palace on September 16, 1981 with an even more impressive title: undefeated Welterweight Champion of the World. Leading on all three judges’ scorecards after 12 rounds that night, Hearns fell victim to a late onslaught by Sugar Ray Leonard and suffered his first professional loss. Encapsulated and Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA, this full ticket (Green version) was issued for that epic bout. With printed seating/event details and colorful likenesses of both combatants on the obverse, and a venue diagram on the reverse, the pristine voucher is every bit deserving of its technical praise. This is the lone specimen at its tier with only one graded higher.
