Description

As if the World Series is an exciting enough stage for any heroics, the Fall Classic has featured only nine “walk-off” hits in its storied history. The fourth of those was delivered by Billy Martin in Game 6 of the 1953 installment, scoring teammate Hank Bauer to give the Yanks their unprecedented fifth straight series crown and the fifth in 13 seasons at the expense of the Brooklyn Dodgers. Encapsulated and Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA, this full printers proof ticket was designed for use at that clinching contest. One of two at its tier with none graded higher, the crisp “Mezzanine” voucher features rounded corners, printed event details, stars-and-stripes themed “top hat” logos and the facsimile signature of team president Daniel R. Topping. The absence of section, row and seat identifiers confirms the item’s status as a printer’s proof. This is a rare and near-pristine souvenir from the culmination of the most dominant run in baseball history!
