Description

Assigned to mop-up duty in back-to-back one-sided losses to the Brooklyn Dodgers, Yankee pitcher Johnny Kucks was the surprise starter for the decisive Game 7 of the 1956 Fall Classic. True to the task, Kucks fired a complete game, 9-0 shutout, sealing the deal by striking out Jackie Robinson to end the game. It marked Robinson’s last-ever appearance and the last-ever World Series game at Ebbets Field. This OML baseball is autographed by Kucks (d.2013) with an inscription detailing his crowning achievement. The snow-white orb (grade “10”) is signed on the sweet spot in blue ballpoint (“10” strength) and inscribed “10-10-56 Last Pitch To Jackie Robinson.” Cert/sticker from JSA.
